First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study compares two medications, haloperidol and olanzapine, to see which one better relieves nausea, vomiting, and belly pain in people with cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome (CHS) — a condition caused by heavy, long-term cannabis use. About 114 adults who use cannabis daily or near-daily will receive one of the drugs in the emergency room. The goal is to find the most effective treatment for these symptoms.
