Could half a dose be enough? new study tests lighter blood thinner after stents

NCT ID NCT07622056

First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tested whether a half-dose blood thinner (ticagrelor) taken alone after heart stent placement works as well as the standard two-drug therapy in East-Asian patients with chronic coronary syndrome. Sixty participants were randomly assigned to one of three treatment groups. The main goal was to measure how well the drugs prevented blood clots, while also watching for bleeding risks. Results may help tailor safer, simpler treatment for this population.
