New scalp wash aims to speed healing after hair transplants

NCT ID NCT07155408

Summary

This study tested if adding an antibiotic called rifampicin to a standard iodine antiseptic wash could improve results for people getting hair transplants. Sixty-five patients were randomly assigned to receive either the new two-part wash or the standard wash alone before their procedure. Researchers then tracked them for two weeks to see if the new wash led to fewer infections, less pain, and faster healing.
