First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study tested whether adding the antibiotic rifampicin to a standard antiseptic (povidone-iodine) before hair transplant surgery could improve wound healing and reduce infections. 65 adults were split into two groups: one got the combined treatment, the other got the standard antiseptic alone. Researchers checked for infections and healing on days 3, 7, and 14 after surgery.
