New hope for stubborn stomach bug? study tests three drug combos

NCT ID NCT07344506

Summary

This study aims to find the best combination of medicines to treat H. pylori, a common stomach infection that can cause ulcers and increase cancer risk. Researchers in Pakistan will compare three different stomach acid pills, each given with the same two antibiotics, to see which one most effectively clears the infection. About 940 adults with H. pylori will take one of the 14-day treatment plans and be tested six weeks later to check if the infection is gone.
