Summary
This study aimed to prevent gastric (stomach) cancer in Bhutan by finding and treating people infected with H. pylori, a common stomach bacteria that raises cancer risk. Over 1,000 permanent residents aged 12 and up from 24 villages were tested. Those found to be infected were offered a standard antibiotic treatment to clear the infection.
