First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This Phase 3 trial tests whether a daily injection of GV1001 can slow cognitive decline in 750 people with moderate-to-severe Alzheimer's. Participants will receive either the drug or a placebo for 24 weeks. Researchers will measure changes in thinking, memory, and daily function using standard tests.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
GV1001 (a peptide drug)
What this could lead to
If successful, GV1001 could offer a new treatment option to slow cognitive decline in people with moderate-to-severe Alzheimer's disease.
What could go wrong
This is a Phase 3 trial, but Alzheimer's is complex and many promising drugs have failed. The study is not yet recruiting, and results may take years. Side effects are possible.
