Simple scan reveals hidden fatty pancreas is surprisingly common

NCT ID NCT07255989

Summary

This study tested a new, non-invasive way to check for fatty pancreas using a device called a FibroScan, which is normally used for the liver. Researchers scanned 50 adults in Egypt to see how common fatty pancreas is and if this quick scan could reliably detect it. They found that fatty pancreas affected more people than expected and that the scan method shows promise as a new diagnostic tool.
