Why a calorie Isn't just a calorie: your gut holds the key
NCT ID NCT06932666
Summary
This study aims to understand why people absorb different amounts of energy (calories) from the same food. Researchers will test if the types of bacteria in your gut, measured by breath methane, affect how many calories you excrete in your stool. They will study 60 healthy adults on two different, carefully controlled diets to see how gut microbes and diet composition interact.
