Could a fiber supplement before surgery speed your recovery?
NCT ID NCT07483502
Summary
This study is testing whether taking a prebiotic fiber supplement for 6-8 weeks before heart surgery can help patients recover better. Researchers will compare 80 patients who take the supplement to those who take a placebo, looking at time spent in intensive care, complications, and overall hospital stay. The goal is to see if improving gut health before an operation leads to faster, smoother recovery.
