First seen May 12, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This early-stage study tests whether adding a fecal microbiota transplant (FMT) to standard psychotherapy can help people with anorexia nervosa. 36 adults will be randomly assigned to therapy alone or therapy plus a single dose of FMT (given as capsules or via a tube). The main goal is to see if this combination is feasible and safe, and to gather data for larger future studies.
