Scientists hunt for gut bacteria clues to prevent surgery complications

NCT ID NCT07416760

Summary

This study aims to understand how gut bacteria might influence healing after colon surgery. Researchers will collect stool samples from 30 patients before and after their operations to see if certain bacterial patterns predict complications like leaks at the surgical connection. This is an observational study that only collects information; it does not test any new treatments.
