Could your gut bugs predict a sugar crash?
NCT ID NCT03385707
Summary
This study aims to understand if the types of bacteria in a person's gut are linked to dangerous drops in blood sugar after meals. Researchers are enrolling 28 adults who experience low blood sugar, especially after weight-loss surgery. By analyzing stool samples, food diaries, and continuous glucose monitors, they hope to find patterns that could lead to personalized diet advice to prevent these episodes.
