Scientists probe Gut's role in fighting deadly hospital infections
NCT ID NCT07183722
Summary
This study aims to understand how the community of bacteria in our gut (the microbiota) might influence who develops serious bloodstream infections and how they recover, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Researchers are enrolling 86 hospitalized adult patients to analyze their gut bacteria and see if certain patterns can protect against infections from dangerous, drug-resistant germs. The goal is to gather knowledge that could lead to better ways to predict, diagnose, and manage these life-threatening infections in the future.
