NCT ID NCT07526883
First seen Apr 20, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study looked at whether non-surgical gum disease treatment could reduce body-wide inflammation and improve blood fat levels in young adults with severe periodontitis. Fifty participants, including a healthy comparison group, were followed for 6 months after deep cleaning and oral hygiene instruction. Researchers measured changes in inflammatory markers and cholesterol to see if gum treatment had broader health benefits.
