First seen Feb 14, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study tested two surgical methods to rebuild the small triangle of gum between teeth (called the papilla) that can be lost due to gum disease or other reasons. 18 healthy adults aged 18-35 received either a connective tissue graft or a titanium insert. Researchers measured gum height and healing over 3 months to see which approach worked better.
