Two tiny surgeries battle for best gum repair

NCT ID NCT04513041

Summary

This study compared two minimally invasive gum surgery techniques—the pinhole technique and the tunnel technique—to see which works better for covering exposed tooth roots caused by receding gums. Each of the 21 participants had both procedures done on different sides of their mouth. Researchers measured how well the gums grew back, how thick they became, and how much pain patients felt after each surgery.
