Smoother dental caps beat 3D-Printed ones for healthier gums

NCT ID NCT07287722

First seen Dec 29, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tested two types of temporary healing caps for dental implants: one milled from a solid block and one 3D-printed. In 22 patients, the milled caps caused less gum inflammation and bleeding over 4 weeks. The smoother surface of milled caps likely led to healthier healing, helping dentists choose the best option for implant success.
