Smoother caps mean healthier gums: study shows milled beats printed for implant healing
NCT ID NCT07287722
First seen Dec 29, 2025 · Last updated May 03, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tested two types of temporary healing caps for dental implants in 22 adults. One type was milled from a solid block, the other 3D-printed. The milled caps caused less gum inflammation and bleeding during the first month of healing, likely because they were smoother. The findings help dentists choose the best cap to support healthy gum healing around implants.
