New gum patch could replace painful palate graft
NCT ID NCT07440303
First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study compares a ready-to-use collagen membrane (Star Matrix) to the standard gum graft taken from the roof of the mouth for widening the band of protective gum tissue around teeth. Twelve adults with thin gum tissue on both sides of the lower jaw will receive each treatment on opposite sides. The goal is to see if the new material works as well, causes less pain, and takes less time to place.
