Gum graft showdown: which material wins for periodontitis?

NCT ID NCT07111533

First seen Apr 04, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tested two different materials for gum grafts in 14 people with advanced gum disease (Stage III periodontitis). One material was a piece of the patient's own gum tissue, and the other was a special membrane made from cow tissue. The goal was to see which one helped the gums heal better by measuring how much the gum pockets shrank and how much the gums reattached to the teeth over 6 months.
