Can a stick of gum calm chemo sickness? new trial investigates
NCT ID NCT07315412
Summary
This study is testing whether chewing gum with natural flavors can help reduce nausea and vomiting after a specific type of abdominal chemotherapy called PIPAC. About 75 adult cancer patients will be randomly assigned to chew either ginger-mint gum, cinnamon gum, or receive standard care only after their procedure. Researchers will measure how much the gum helps control nausea over two hours to see if it's a simple, drug-free way to improve comfort after surgery.
