New gum treatment tested against standard gel

NCT ID NCT07437209

Summary

This study tested two add-on treatments for gum disease (periodontitis) to see which works better alongside standard cleaning. In 15 patients, researchers compared a combination of platelet-rich fibrin (a healing gel made from the patient's own blood) with an antibiotic, against a standard antibiotic gel called Arestin. The goal was to see which add-on treatment better helps control the disease by reducing gum pocket depth and inflammation.
