New gum disease treatments aim to boost standard cleaning results

Summary
This study is testing if adding one of two substances—hyaluronic acid gel or a protein-rich gel called Alb-PRF—to the standard deep cleaning for gum disease leads to better results. Researchers will compare these two add-on treatments against deep cleaning alone in 51 adults with moderate-to-severe gum disease. They will measure gum health and inflammation markers over three months to see which approach works best.
