Could your own blood help save your teeth? new gum disease gel tested
NCT ID NCT07363135
Summary
This study tested if adding a special gel made from a patient's own blood could improve healing after a deep cleaning for gum disease. In 23 adults with moderate-to-severe gum disease, one side of the mouth received the standard cleaning plus the gel, while the other side received just the cleaning. Researchers measured gum health and levels of natural healing factors over six months to see if the gel helped.
