Could treating gum disease help heal your heart?
NCT ID NCT04046237
Summary
This study is testing if intensive treatment for severe gum disease can reduce dangerous inflammation in the arteries of people who have recently had a heart attack. It will involve 210 participants in France. Half will receive specialized gum treatment from a periodontist, while the other half will see their regular dentist for usual care, to see which approach better calms artery inflammation.
