Summary
This study aims to understand how a standard dental cleaning treatment for advanced gum disease affects specific molecules in the body related to bone health and healing. Researchers will compare 56 people—half with healthy gums and half with serious gum disease—by measuring these molecules in their blood and gum fluid before and after treatment. The goal is to gather new knowledge about the body's response to gum treatment, not to test a new cure.
