Gum Treatment's hidden effects on bone health markers revealed
NCT ID NCT07475013
First seen Mar 18, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study looks at how a common gum disease treatment (scaling and root planing) changes certain proteins in the blood and gum fluid of people with advanced gum disease. Researchers will compare 28 people with severe gum disease to 28 healthy people, measuring markers linked to bone health and healing. The goal is to better understand how the body responds to treatment, not to test a new therapy.
