Scientists probe immune System's role in gum disease
NCT ID NCT02833285
Summary
This study aims to understand how specific immune cells called B cells behave in people with serious gum disease (periodontitis). Researchers will collect blood and gum tissue samples from 60 patients before and after their standard gum surgery. The goal is to learn if certain patterns of these cells can help doctors better diagnose, predict, and potentially treat gum disease in the future.
