Dental x-rays reveal hidden bone changes after gum treatment

NCT ID NCT07488403

Summary

This study looked at whether standard gum disease treatment changes the microscopic structure of jawbone. Researchers analyzed dental X-rays from 69 patients with gum disease before and 6 months after treatment. They used a special computer analysis method called fractal analysis to detect subtle bone changes that regular exams might miss.
