NCT ID NCT07452783

First seen Mar 15, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study looked at whether gum disease (gingivitis or periodontitis) can disturb the natural 'clock' genes in gum tissue. Researchers collected small gum samples from 60 healthy adults with similar sleep habits and compared gene activity between those with healthy gums, mild gum disease, and advanced gum disease. The goal was to understand if inflammation from gum disease can mess with the body's daily rhythms at a cellular level.
