Scientists probe if gum disease throws off your Body's clock

NCT ID NCT07452783

Summary

This study aimed to understand if gum inflammation is linked to changes in the body's internal clock within the gums themselves. Researchers compared 60 adults with similar sleep patterns, who had either healthy gums, gingivitis, or more serious periodontitis. They analyzed small gum tissue samples to measure clock-related genes and inflammation markers, looking for connections.
