Scientists hunt for a hidden gum disease culprit
NCT ID NCT07443917
Summary
This study aims to understand if a specific bacteria called Treponema parvum is linked to gum disease (periodontitis). Researchers will compare plaque samples from 112 people with and without gum disease to see how common this bacteria is. The goal is to gather knowledge about what causes gum disease, not to test a new treatment.
