Mind over matter: can mental imagery ease surgery fears and pain?
NCT ID NCT07194252
Summary
This study is testing if a relaxation technique called guided imagery can help people having a total hip or knee replacement. Researchers want to see if listening to guided imagery sessions before and after surgery can lower patients' anxiety, reduce their pain, and decrease their need for painkillers. The study will involve 128 patients in Turkey, comparing those who receive the guided imagery sessions to those who do not.
