Summary
This study tested whether a mouthwash made from guava leaf extract works as well as a standard chlorhexidine mouthwash for treating chronic gingivitis (gum disease). 160 adults with moderate to severe gum inflammation used one of the two rinses. Researchers measured plaque buildup, gum redness and swelling, and bacteria levels to compare effectiveness.
