Drug trial halted for skin lupus treatment

NCT ID NCT05629208

Summary

This study tested whether a drug called edecesertib (GS-5718) could safely reduce skin rashes and lesions in people with cutaneous lupus erythematosus (CLE), a condition where the immune system attacks the skin. The trial was small, involving 20 participants, and was designed to see if the drug improved skin scores over 12 weeks compared to a placebo. The study was terminated early, and its results are not yet publicly available.
