Grief and heart health: could Self-Affirmation be the key?
NCT ID NCT07356635
First seen Jan 21, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 30 times
Summary
This study looks at how recalling a loss affects heart rate and blood pressure in young adults who have lost a loved one in the past 2 to 18 months. Researchers want to see if a brief self-affirmation exercise (thinking about your core values) can help calm the body's stress response during and after grief recall. The goal is to understand the link between grief severity and heart health, not to treat or cure any condition.
