Laser study peers inside prostate after treatment
NCT ID NCT01732991
First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study looked at how prostate tissue changes after a Greenlight laser treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), or enlarged prostate. Researchers used MRI and special ultrasound to measure the area of dead tissue (necrosis) created by the laser. The goal was simply to observe and measure these changes over a year, not to test a new treatment or improve symptoms.
