Green tea extract trial aims to soothe painful radiation burns

NCT ID NCT07149506

Summary

This study is testing whether compounds from green tea, called catechins, can help prevent or treat the painful skin burns that often occur during radiation therapy for cancer. The trial will involve 162 cancer patients who are receiving radiation. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the green tea compounds (as a spray or capsule) or a placebo, in addition to their standard care, to see which is better at protecting and healing the skin.
