New drug trial aims to slow debilitating nerve disease

NCT ID NCT07191912

Summary

This study is testing whether a drug called govorestat can provide long-term benefits for people with CMT-SORD, a rare genetic nerve disorder that causes muscle weakness. About 155 patients aged 16-65 will be randomly assigned to receive either the drug or a placebo for up to three years. Researchers will measure changes in walking ability, strength, and overall health to see if the drug can slow the disease's progression.
