Science tees off: does walking the course really burn more calories?
NCT ID NCT06904833
Summary
This study aimed to measure how much energy elite amateur golfers use and how their performance is affected when they walk an 18-hole course versus when they ride in a golf cart. Researchers monitored 16-30 golfers during tournament play in Portugal, tracking their heart rate, movement, swing performance, and even their sense of effort and fatigue. The goal was to gather practical data to help golfers plan better nutrition and recovery strategies based on how they get around the course.
