Gold nanorods heat up tumors in new melanoma trial

Summary

This early study tests a new treatment for advanced skin melanoma that has not responded to standard therapies. Ten participants will receive two injections of gold nanorods directly into their tumors, which are then activated with a special light to generate heat and destroy cancer cells. The main goal is to check safety and see if the tumors shrink.
