New hope for kids in sepsis crisis: drug trial aims to jumpstart immune defense
NCT ID NCT05266001
First seen Apr 15, 2026 ยท Last updated Apr 15, 2026
Summary
This study tested whether a drug called GM-CSF could help children with severe sepsis and multiple organ failure. Researchers gave the drug or a placebo to 141 children whose immune systems were weakened by the infection. The goal was to see if boosting the immune system could help the children's organs recover better and improve their long-term health.
