First seen May 14, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looked at whether giving glycopyrrolate before and during laparoscopic surgery for gastrointestinal cancer helps preserve lung function in patients aged 65 and older. The drug is already used to reduce saliva, but researchers wanted to see if it also improves oxygen levels and lung mechanics. 52 participants were enrolled, and the study measured oxygen exchange and other lung health markers.
