Super glue for IVs? study tests new way to stop tubes from falling out in kids

NCT ID NCT07450729

Summary

This study is testing if adding a special skin glue helps keep IV lines in place better for children in the emergency room. Currently, IVs are held with a clear plastic dressing, but they can still slip out, which can be painful and require a new needle stick. Researchers will compare the glue-and-dressing method to the standard dressing alone in 300 children to see which one keeps the IV more secure.
