Simple test could predict survival in ICU patients

NCT ID NCT07240103

Summary

This study aimed to find a simpler way to monitor the body's energy use in critically ill patients. Researchers followed 140 patients in intensive care to see if the difference between blood sugar and fluid around cells could predict their risk of death and other complications. The goal was to find a less invasive, real-time indicator to help guide patient care.
