NCT ID NCT07104539

First seen Jan 31, 2026 · Last updated May 03, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study looks at whether popular GLP-1 weight-loss drugs (like Wegovy or Zepbound) cause muscle loss or affect balance in adults aged 50 and older. Thirty participants who just started taking these drugs will undergo 14 weeks of strength training. Researchers will measure changes in muscle mass, walking ability, and balance using a special treadmill test. The goal is to understand if these medications increase fall risk in older adults.
