Weight-Loss drug mystery: could popular meds weaken muscles?
NCT ID NCT07104539
Summary
This study aims to understand if popular GLP-1 weight-loss medications (like Wegovy or Zepbound) affect muscle mass, strength, and balance in adults aged 50 and older. Researchers will enroll 30 participants who recently started these medications to measure their muscle response to a 14-week strength training program. The goal is to gather important safety information about potential muscle loss and increased fall risk that could come with these drugs.
