Diabetes drug safety check: is your stomach empty enough for surgery?
NCT ID NCT07506356
Summary
This study aims to understand how long people with type 2 diabetes should stop their GLP-1 medication (like semaglutide) before surgery to ensure their stomach is safely empty for anesthesia. Researchers will measure stomach volume using ultrasound in 38 participants after they fast. The goal is to provide clearer safety guidelines for doctors and patients planning surgery.
