First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated Jun 05, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tested whether a GLP-1 receptor agonist (liraglutide) works better than insulin for managing diabetes in children aged 10-18 with transfusion-dependent thalassemia. The goal was to see if the drug could improve blood sugar control with fewer injections. The study involved 80 participants and compared the two treatments over 6 months.
